The latest fashion trend in footwear, UGG boots, have certainly taken the world by storm. If you are one of the lucky people to own a pair of these wonderful sheepskin boots, you are probably wondering how to clean UGGS. Certainly are not alone. They are very different from the usual kind of boots that one can simply wipe clean with a damp cloth.
UGG boots are known for the softness and coziness. Unfortunately, they are also known for showing wear and dirt very easily. Many people are worried about cleaning their boots because they do not know how to clean UGGS.
The first lesson in how to clean UGGS begins as soon as you take them home and take them out of the box. You must apply a specially made sheepskin protector to your brand new UGGS. The best way to keep them clean is to prevent grime and dirt from accumulating on them to begin with. This protector will serve as a sealant for your UGG boots and will keep them from becoming soiled.
In order to apply the sealant, you need to first make your UGG boots thoroughly wet. This is best achieved by using a damp, clean sponge. Start at the top of a boot and work your way down the length of the boot. After finishing this step on each boot, apply some mild detergent to the boot’s surface. Scrub this detergent into the surface of the boot with the same damp sponge.
The next step in how to clean UGGS is to rinse them completely. Do this with a second damp sponge, again starting from the top of the boot. In order to restore your boots to their original shape, stuff them with crumpled, clean paper. Never put your UGGS out to dry in the sunlight or near a heat source.
When they have dried completely, brush them with a suede brush. Be sure to work the brush in only one direction. Brushing your UGGS out in this manner will restore the sheepskin’s natural nap and will get your UGG boots looking almost as good as new.
